Only well-seasoned, master grade woods are used in the construction of my guitars. All woods are had selected by my suppliers to meet my standards for beauty and tone.
On my steel string guitars, parabolic soundboards are used to provide the structural rigidity necessary, at the same time allowing for a thinner, more responsive top. The use of parabolic soundboards virtually eliminates top deformation, and the thinner top produces greater volume from the instrument, along with a more powerful bass presence.
My guitars also feature a "impedance matching " pinless bridge, along with genuine bone saddles and nuts.
The necks of my guitars are built using multi-piece construction for resistance to warping and structural failure. In addition, the headstocks are overlaid front and rear with veneers. Each neck is equipped with an adjustable, dual action truss rod. To lend a finished look to the peghead, the tuning machines are countersunk to lessen chipping of the lacquer around the base of the tuners that can occur over time.
There are many factors to be considered when choosing tonewoods for your instrument. Among these factors are tonal properties, attack and sustain, resonance, and, of course visual appeal. Shown below are a few samples of some of the many woods available.

From traditional vines to my own custom inlays to ideas provided by the client, we will work to make your instrument truly unique. My inlays incorporate the use of several different types of shell, wood, metals and stone.

Soundhole rosettes on all Wren guitars are one-of-a-kind. They can include materials such as wood strips, mother of pearl, stone, and various wood burls. Each rosette is individually crafted to fit the overall artistic theme of the instrument. Many of the rosette designs have been suggested or drawn by customers themselves. I welcome your input on rosette designs that will personalize your instrument to fit your individual taste.
